Halloween in South Riding

Oct 21, 2018 | South Riding

Trick or treat! There is a lot of Halloween fun to be had in South Riding and Chantilly this year. The most popular Halloween activity here is the classic – trick or treating! Trick or treating takes place on Halloween between sundown and about 8:30 pm. But the Halloween fun doesn’t have to be confined to just one day! There are spooky ways to celebrate all month. We wanted to share some Halloween family safety tips with you, and tell you about some of the awesome Halloween events you can attend!

Safety Tips

The safety of you and your family is our number one priority. Make sure everyone sticks together when you’re out trick or treating or choosing pumpkins! It can be tempting for little ones to wander off in all of the holiday excitement, especially when candy is involved. Hold hands, check in, and work together! If your child has allergies or dietary restrictions, ask them to check with you before they enjoy a piece of Halloween candy. This is a good idea even if no dietary restrictions are involved, as you’ll want to make sure that the candy has not been opened or tampered with.

Halloween Spooktacular

This year’s Halloween Spooktacular will be held on Sunday, October 28th from 2pm-4pm. There will be a hauntingly awesome parade that starts at the South Riding Golf Club and ends at Town Green. This is a great opportunity to show off your creative costumes and check out all the local fun!

Chantilly High School Haunted House

The Chantilly High School women’s field hockey and soccer teams invite the community for a night of fright at their annual haunted house! All ages are welcome! In past years, nearly 1,500 visitors from Chantilly and our surrounding communities have attended this spooky event. Money raised will benefit both the CHS field hockey and soccer programs. The haunted house will be in operation on October 27th. Come earlier in the afternoon for the less scary version, or later in the evening for maximum scaring!

Ticonderoga Pumpkin Festival

If spooky isn’t really your thing, try the Ticonderoga Pumpkin Festival! The festival features a bounce house, hayride, a pumpkin patch, face painting, cow train rides , s’mores, and much more! There will be fun for all ages.

We hope you enjoy your Halloween with your family! Promise us you won’t forget to brush your teeth after!
